Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has criticized Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over the ongoing disagreements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing him of taking control of his political structures and contributing to the party’s poor performance in the recent Ekiti governorship election.
Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Monday, June 22, 2026, Fayose said he is 11 years older than Makinde and believes the governor should accord him the respect due to an elder.
Fayose stated that while Makinde achieved financial success early in life, he was also making progress through consistency and hard work at that time.
“I am eleven years older than Makinde; he was a small boy when he said he made his first million. I didn’t make millions, but I was consistent in life and doing well,” Fayose said.
