A catholic seminarian in Kaduna state was on Thursday, reportedly burnt to death by some unknown bandits
The incident reportedly occured in the late hours of Thursday after bandits allegedly invaded his host parish St. Raphael Parish in Fadan Kamantan, Kafanchan Diocese in Southern Kaduna at about 8:00pm and set the parish house ablaze.
While some priests were reported to have escaped, the seminarian, identified as Na’aman Danlami was caught in the inferno.
It was gathered that the deceased seminarian died from the smoke he inhaled while trying to escape from the grasp of the attackers and that the remains of the seminarian have since been deposited in the mortuary.
Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Police Command Acting Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Alhassan, said the force had been tipped about the incident.
On his part, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab, who spoke to journalists via phone call said, “It is very sad that killings and this type of evil are still going on.”
Meanwhile, the Catholic Church in Kaduna State is yet to comment on the incident.
