Tunisia Sack Lamouchi, appoint Renard
Tunisia have appointed Herve Renard as their new head coach after Sabri Lamouchi was sacked just one game into the World Cup.
Lamouchi was fired just hours after Tunisia’s 5-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening Group F fixture on Monday.
Renard will arrive in Mexico on Tuesday and will take charge of their training session.
The 57-year-old was sacked by Saudi Arabia in April, bringing his second stint with the national team to an end.
Renard managed Morocco at the 2018 World Cup and Saudi Arabia in 2022, overseeing their victory against the tournament’s eventual winners Argentina.
He also coached France at the 2023 Women’s World Cup and Zambia and Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 and 2015 respectively.
