Davido and Bashir Ahmad clashes on X over Osun State election

Afrobeats superstar Davido has criticised former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad over comments relating to the upcoming Osun State governorship election.

The exchange began after Davido revealed on X that he witnessed a telephone conversation between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing the moment as “history.”

Reacting to the post, Bashir Ahmad said he had bookmarked it and expressed confidence that Davido would return to the platform to lament the outcome of the August 15 governorship election.

Bashir Wrote:This tweet is bookmarked. It will serve as a reference for future events. I know you will come back here to lament if the August 15 results don’t go your way,” Bashir wrote.

Davido fired back by mocking Bashir Ahmad’s performance in the APC primary election and further accused him of failing to make a meaningful impact on people in his community despite serving for eight years in the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Davido wrote:You got 16 votes, bro, in the primaries. STFU,” the singer wrote

Bashir replied: “We have talked enough about the number of votes I got in my primaries. Can we now talk about the number of Grammy Awards you have won from your five nominations, David?

Davido countered: “You measure success by one award. I measure it by sold-out arenas, billions of streams, global influence, and people singing my songs across continents.
